CarGo is an early-access service that sends you alerts when your own vehicles arrive at or leave your property, using motion clips from your Ring camera. By using CarGo you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
CarGo is a convenience. Recognition is probabilistic: it will sometimes miss a vehicle, alert on the wrong one, or deliver an alert late, and this happens most often during its first days with your cameras. We cannot guarantee that any particular alert will be sent, will arrive, or will arrive in time. CarGo is not a security, safety, or monitoring system, so you should not rely on it to protect people or property, to confirm that someone has arrived safely, or for any purpose in which a missed or mistaken alert could cause harm, and you must not connect it to any alarm, dispatch, or emergency system. CarGo is an independent product; it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ring LLC or Amazon.com, Inc.
You must have the right to use the Ring account and the cameras that you connect, and you remain responsible for complying with Ring's terms and with the laws that apply to recording in the places your cameras point. Your use of Ring itself is governed by Ring's own terms and privacy notice, not by ours. You can disconnect CarGo from your Ring account at any time, and when you do, CarGo stops reading your cameras immediately.
CarGo depends on access that Ring provides. Ring may change, limit, or withdraw that access at any time, and if it does, some or all of CarGo may stop working without liability on our part; we will tell you what we know as soon as we can.
Please use CarGo only for your own household's or business's vehicles, on cameras you are entitled to use. Do not use it to track people, to follow vehicles on public roads, to get around anyone's privacy, or to probe or overload the service. We may suspend accounts that do any of these things.
If you use CarGo at a business, a job site, or any other place where employees, contractors, or visitors are recorded, you are responsible for giving them whatever notice and obtaining whatever consent the law and Ring's rules require, and for any signage those rules call for.
Early access is free. If we introduce pricing, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, and you will never be charged without agreeing to it first. When CarGo is sold through the Ring Appstore, subscriptions are billed monthly by Ring, which is the merchant of record; any trial ends without converting to a paid plan unless you choose one, and refunds are handled through Ring under Ring's policies. Any later price change will be announced at least 30 days before it takes effect.
You can stop at any time by disconnecting Ring, by uninstalling the app, or by asking us to delete your account. We may end or change the early-access service, and we will give you reasonable notice if we do.
CarGo is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent that the law permits, Granite Peak Engineering LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to CarGo is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months or fifty US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; where they do not, the limits apply to the extent permitted.
If someone brings a claim against us because you recorded or monitored people or places without the right to do so, or otherwise used CarGo in breach of these terms, you agree to cover the resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees.
If we change the kinds of things CarGo detects, or replace the models it uses in a way that could change what you receive, we will tell you in advance, and any new kind of detection will be off for your account until you turn it on.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute that cannot be settled by email will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California. We would much rather resolve any problem by email first.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be dated here and, where appropriate, emailed to you before they take effect. CarGo is operated by Granite Peak Engineering LLC, a California limited liability company in San Marcos, California. If you have a question, write to [email protected].
